I teach permaculture and lead permaculture-related projects. Permaculture is the design of sustainable human habitats, and covers a variety of topics, from food-growing to appropriate technologies. I lead garden workparties, do design and consultation work, give evening talks, and coordinate and lead many-day internationally recognized certificate trainings in Permaculture. I'm based in Pierce County but often travel to teach throughout the Puget Sound region.

When we began to feel the impact of the recent economic downturn, Edmonds Community College created ArtsNow to reach out to those looking to make some extra money with their passions. The goal is to learn to take avocations, like painting and short story writing, and develop them into viable business enterprises. East Shore Unitarian Church provides a variety of adult education programs throughout the year, for low cost and many are free. Classes include peace making, conflict resolution, parenting/ teen issues, history and culture , photography, the arts, emergency preparedness, writing, literature studies, world religions, Unitarian universalism, social justice and human sexuality, bird watching, gardening, and many more. Classes vary by quarter so check the website. All are welcome!
